To fridge or not to fridge?

My chickens have just started to lay eggs (I got the second one this morning!) and I am unsure if they need to be refrigerated or not. I know eggs in the grocery store are refrigerated in the US but in other countries they are not. So what’s the best way to keep fresh eggs fresh?

They do stay freshest in the fridge, that's a fact.
but if you use eggs everyday, I just grab out of the egg basket. An egg ages (looses moisture, membranes dissolve etc) more in one day on the counter than they do a week in the fridge. Don't wash them if you leave them on the counter.
