Hello all, little update, last Sunday we lost two khaki Campbell ducklings, one was going to be 2 weeks, the other was going to be 3 weeks this last Monday. They was sent off for an autopsy, can’t remember the word they actually use. Had two of our 3 KC checked by the vet, she said they looked good and healthy, other than one had a heart murmur she seemed a bit surprised about. She doesn’t suspect any virus or bacteria infection, said it was just probably nothing to worry about, probably just a nature thing. Said we should about be out of that part now, and hopefully no more losses. After this next Monday they will all be 3 and 4 weeks old and she said it is just a possibility up til around the 3-4 week old then if they make it past that everything should go fine. They are all loving their swim times, and already getting quite the characters. You can tell some are more friendly and don’t mind being held, even seem to enjoy, others just tolerate, and others that outright protest being picked up lol. Had to split them into groups for swim time as they have already grown so big, they just didn’t have enough room in the tub together, we thought. I’ll try to grab some photos later on to post. They are now trying to get their feathers, and you can hear tons of practice quacking, although not quacks yet at all, but know that sound now and they are definitely giving it a go ha. All our other babies are doing well, growing so fast. The second youngest group is nearly fully feathered in adult plumage. Our little Rouen male is really getting beautiful. His head as of yesterday was almost fully green, with the grayish underbody so he is really starting to be one beautiful duck. Well think this is already long enough for now, hope everyone has a great Friday!

Sorry for your losses.
Waiting for pics :D
(No pressure or anything I'm just stating that).

So sorry you lost the 2 ducklings. Hopefully, it won't be anything contagious.

Looking forward to pics too. :pop
We appreciate the condolences, it was pretty hard on my wife, I understand it is to be expected a little, but was sad. We noticed the 2 week old was having issues, separated it, and kept her company gave her extra comfort, electrolytes and probiotics, kinda threw everything we had at her trying to hopefully get her well, but she passed Saturday evening, and the other we didn’t even notice was any issue with found it still warm, early the next morning.
We was planning on having the babies outside in an are enclosed in the house that is going to be theirs. But until we know for sure the vet advised us to keep them inside, plus the temps will be dropping quite drastically this week. They are getting a bit big for their brooders, at this point, which wouldn’t have been an issue as the plan was to have them in their permanent home now, but if it is something contagious wouldn’t want to infect our whole flock. Bellow are some pictures for the ducklings and some of our juveniles and then a pic or two with our juveniles and adults outside swimming, or waiting on their turn to swim lol.
