I got my first external pip!Go Babies!

Been doing this for 3 years now, not nearly as long as some of you have but it never fails to amaze me how excited I get when hatch day arrives. I hope it never ceases to excite me and leave me in awe.

I worked as an OB nurse for almost 5 years and it affected me the same way. One moment a baby is in it's mother's body and the next it is out, breathing on it's own, a new life ready to face whatever adventures that lie ahead.

With chickens' it's a bit different. One egg touched by a determined rooster, can either be breakfast or if you apply heat, turn regularly and nurture it along, will become a chick with or without a hen's help.

Life is amazing.

@Beercan, cornmeal pancakes. Are those like Johnny Cakes?
