The Old Folks Home

Is that a duckling??? No the feet are wrong. A space alien? A silkie feathered something ?
It's a baby pigeon.

Gulf Coast Native Sheep are interesting. Left by Spanish explorers, they evolved to survive the heat and humidity of the Southeast with no wool on their face, legs or bellies.

I grew up on the Gulf Coast and I have never heard of the sheep, cattle nor pigs until recently. We hunted raccoons in the Florida Panhandle and we saw livestock from the panhandle but never these adaptations. There are plenty of sticky things like thorny vines and briars in that part of the country.
