I have found myself in the position of having to care for a ringneck dove for at least the next week if not longer, while a family member recieves profesional care.
My understanding is that they "found" said bird on their porch 2 days ago. It seems to be a ?tangerine? morph dove, and is possibly in molt. It has no tail feathers at the moment.
They have it set up in a 30x36 kennel. And a bag of Cockatiel food. Is there anything I should be doing for it besides just food and water?

So I've had a dove for the past 20yrs... feed him canary seed if possible (cockatiel seed *may* be too big for him) and make sure he has plenty of fresh water. If possible, I would buy some Colloidal Silver from your local "healthy foods" store and pop a few drops in the water as well. The Colloidal Silver pretty much helps boosts the immune system.
Since it's technically a "wild" bird, be sure to keep the bird seperate from any other birds in the household. Best of luck!
