Oh I’m so happy! It has been a LONG week! And I made some mistakes along the way but I feel like celebrating!
my 4 year old Speckled Sussex went broody this year (she usually does), so I went and purchased 5 Bantam chicks at tractor supply for her. Out of the 5, only one passed away (he was very wobbly and not eating and even the clerk at tractor supply thought it looked bad so she gave me an extra chick). Anyways- after slowly introducing these bantys I can say this momma hen is full on mother mode. Today she puffed up and threatened my dog (it was all show my dog wasn’t even interested in the chicks lol), and she and the chicks are ‘clucking’ at each other, the chicks run and hid under her for safety, and she’s so gentle with them.
