has anyone experimented with adding sorghum seeds to feed to increase the ratio of pullets. I originally read about this in Lowell Stromberg's book on sexing all types of fowl. I raise a few show birds and I would like to increase my number of pullets to sell trios instead of pairs.

i have been adding the sorghum for about 2 1/2 months. im not the greatest at sexing young chicks, so all my math comes from sex links.

the hens are first year, roosters vary in age. before i started feeding sorghum my hatch rate was about 45% male and 55% female. now it appears to be closer to 40% male and 60% female. but there are drawbacks, more hens seem to be going broody, therefor im getting less eggs. they also appear to drink more water.

just wondering if anyone else has researched this, and if your findings are the same.
