Songs We Like

Uriah Heep is not known popular compared to like The Rolling Stones, but they do have a handful of really great tunes. Then there are some so so fillers songs also. They are from the 70's . This one is one of my FAVORITES. When you get to position 1:31, KRANK UP DA VOLUME. and tell me what you think. :celebrate

This is the type of flute I play. I have extensive collections of flute music by Carlos Nakai and others. I do not claim to be any where near as talented as them, but I do enjoy playing regardless.

Attended one of his concerts a few years back.
I like it. My daughter played flute in school band for a couple of years and got decent at it. Then she put it down n and hasn't touched it since. She still has it. Just gathering dust. So wish she would get inspired again. I think flute music is as pretty and relaxing as there is.

Haven't heard this one in ages:
"One Headlight"

So long ago, I don't remember when
That's when they say I lost my only friend
Well they said she died easy of a broken heart disease
As I listened through the cemetery trees

I seen the sun comin' up at the funeral at dawn
The long broken arm of human law
Now it always seemed such a waste
She always had a pretty face
So I wondered how she hung around this place

[сhorus:]
Hey, come on try a little
Nothing is forever
There's got to be something better than
In the middle
But me & Cinderella
We put it all together
We can drive it home
With one headlight

She said it's cold
It feels like Independence Day
And I can't break away from this parade
But there's got to be an opening
Somewhere here in front of me
Through this maze of ugliness and greed
And I seen the sun up ahead
At the county line bridge
Sayin' all there's good and nothingness is dead
We'll run until she's out of breath
She ran until there's nothin' left
She hit the end-it's just her window ledge

[chorus]

Well this place is old
It feels just like a beat up truck
I turn the engine, but the engine doesn't turn
Well it smells of cheap wine & cigarettes
This place is always such a mess
Sometimes I think I'd like to watch it burn
I'm so alone, and I feel just like somebody else
Man, I ain't changed, but I know I ain't the same
But somewhere here in between the city walls of dyin' dreams
I think her death it must be killin' me

[chorus]
Bob Dylan's son Jason. The wallflowers

The Magician's Birthday is one of the best under rated albums of all time. We are Heep fans

I remember that one. Would never have thought of it had you not it up. They never play it on the oldies station I listen to. Thanks for the memories.

I see these ships in the Chicago and Gary Indiana ports on the south end of Lake Michigan. Every time , I do, the following memory comes to me.

One of my wishes is to travel to Whitefish Bay and standing at the waters edge, play my flute for the 29 souls that perished.
Yes! My husband loves this sort of ballad.
