I will TRY to post a cost analysis along with the photos however, YMMV because we had some of the materials already. It was really amazing to myself and DH at how easily this thing came together!

Cutting down 2 boards to an 8ft. length.

8ft x 8ft frame.

2 cattle panels, overlapped. There's our hobbit door to under our house in the background.

We already had the boards and nails, so *free*. Each cattle panel was $18.99 on sale for Black Friday. So far, we're at $40!

............continued......................

Covered in a tarp, held by bungee cords. We already had all of it.

Empty cat litter containers screwed into wood to hold them in place as nesting boxes (free). If you look close, you can see the bald spot where the other coop used to sit... and see the HUGE difference in size from that one to this!!

A small issued arose, so we needed to use a panel from a dog run for the back. We'll be framing up a door ASAP.

We placed a temporary roost in by using a 2x4 wedged into 2 saw horses.

My first coop build was a CP. 8 x 8 with raised loft across the back 4 x 8. The addition of the loft, and closing that in with plywood made for some interesting framing and construction. The flock still loves that old coop, and go running to it every chance they get. They stand outside and stare longingly into it b/c it houses a single roo right now.
