Hello, I'm an adoption based breeder located in Tonopah Arizona, 85354. This means you actually get to pick your new companion/flock member. I only adopt out 2+ week old Seramas. This is for their health and safety. They are rather delicate their first couple weeks of life so I spend most of my day tending to the chicks and making sure everyone is doing well. Shipping this breed's chicks is inhumane and I personally won't ship them.
We practice incredible biosecurity here to prevent diseases. Pullerum free stock. Fresh bedding, water and feed. We check for mites weekly and inspect their general health and well-being. Avian influenza is spreading all over the world right now. For your flocks safety you should vet your breeders. Ask about what their/our preventive measures are. It's in your flocks interest as well as my flocks.
I will do my best to visually sex the chicks. I won't really know until at least 5 weeks old. Seramas and most bantams chicks are too small and delicate to sex with other methods. I will meet you away from my house for biosecurity purposes and the chickens will be in an appropriate sized box with lots of ventilation. You can inspect them and get to know them before any money is exchanged. I want them to be a perfect fit for your coop. I can't take anyone back after you leave with them due to AI risks
Seramas are a wonderful breed of chicken. They bring us never ending happiness and I'm sure they will bring many bright days to your coop as well. I'm trying to bring the price of this breed down. Mine are only $50, for all ages with enough support and business I will be getting them down to at least $25 (hopefully even lower). I love this breed and want to share them with the world. I'd love to see you start breeding them too. I'm also working on cleaning up the bloodlines and can't continue my efforts until these beautiful babies are adopted out.
They sound like squeak toys when they crow/egg song. They eat less than larger breeds and need less space overall. That doesn't mean keep them in tiny cages! They do enjoy lots of roosting spots. They really enjoy being held and make wonderful lap chickens. There is still the occasional Serama, who just wants to do their own thing. I'll do my best to tell you their personalities. Never hesitate to ask for more about ones you're interested in.
I also have hatching eggs I can sell for a dollar each (local only).
Ps this is my first post in BST so if I need to add anything please let me know. I attached pics of all my current adoptables. All ages 2-8 weeks.
