I'm hatching some coturnix quail soon and I want to keep them in some premade rabbit hutches (Pawhut 54" 2-Story Large Rabbit Hutch). From the reviews, I'm not hopefully about the quality, so I am doing to reinforce them myself. One common complaint was that urine from the top hutch was dripping down onto the one underneath, so I want to seal the seams inside each hutch to help prevent this. Is regular caulk safe for quails? I can't find any toxin free/eco caulk that isn't way too expensive. I was also considering using aquarium sealant since that claims to be pet safe, but would that work for this project? Any advice appreciated!

Get a clear silicone. You won’t find much that’s pet safe. But clear or white wouldn’t look too interesting so they wouldn’t peck at it. Biggest thing is to make absolutely sure that it’s set completely. The fumes from any product would be very bad for the birds.
