Raw back

This isn’t an emergency but I’ve noticed my hen has a raw spot on her back. It’s not bloody but easily could. I think it’s my rooster pecking it’s back and her refusing him but here is a picture. If anyone knows an answer and how I should handle it please let me know and thank you! Sorry for the bad picture.

How many hens do you have with your rooster? Do any other hens have this problem?

She could be getting pecked on. But she could also be having problems from overbreeding. Putting a hen saddle on her would stop some of the overbreeding and give it time to heal if it’s being pecked on.

You can purchase a chicken saddle/apron to protect her back from overmating and/or picking.
