Rats, rats EVERYWHERE! ☹️

Yes, that is an issue. You need to make sure that they can't get into the coop when it is locked up, and then just take the eggs away as soon as possible. The rats are more wried abbot the chicken food, then the eggs. It is a good worry though.
Yeah see that’s the problem. I don’t think there’s a way for me to “rat proof” my coop. They’ve even managed to get into my quail pen that’s covered in 1/2” hardwire cloth.
 
26. Along with 7 ducks. And I’ll be left with 2 quail after tomorrow. Then about 30 guineas (not cooped up).
I was just wondering because I thought if you didn't have too many you could put them in your house or garage or somewhere rat proof, while you put traps and poison everywhere, so the chickens wouldn't eat it or step in them
