Question about Truck bed trailers

So... many people get wrecked trucks and then they take the bed off the back. Then they basically weld and alter it to be a pull trailer for another truck. This makes for a cheap and efficient trailer for hauling things.

But if you were to try to rig a cover over it using the existing shell slot holes in the side panels, how should you make sure that whatever you build over the top won't slide off or come off?

Some accidents with normal pick up trucks in the past have occurred from the shells sliding off the back of the truck bed for example. And because of this this means there must be a way to make sure whatever you plug into those slots for the shell to connect to whether hand made or company made must have a correct way to secure into...?

Thanks.

If you're putting a camper shell/cover on the bed of a truck, you'd use camper shell clamps/mounting clamps to attach the cover to the bed.
Thanks for the reply.

What if you are building the shell yourself? What would you suggest then?

Clamps could still be used depending on your design.

If the bed rail has stake pockets, I suppose you could potentially build the cover with stakes to fit in those, but the cover would need to be relatively lightweight, or you'd need extra help to install/remove the cover.
