My golden Sexlink appeared perfectly healthy two days ago but died suddenly last night. Upon examination, I found the crop to be rock hard, so I opened it up. It appeared to be full of dirt, assorted whole grains of wheat from scratch, and a few bits of oyster shell.
Can anyone tell me why this so? My last bag of shavings from the feed store was mortise sawdust than shavings, so I'm a little worried that she may have eaten that and had trouble. Also, their poultry nipple system appeared to have gotten plugged a few days ago last week so maybe she had gotten dehydrated and that compounded the problem.
Ideas?
