hi,
I have about 17 hens (3 which are silkies, so I don't expect so many eggs out of them), they are all pretty healthy (they do have lice which I'm trying to overcome) and a few are a couple of years old, but I only get about 6 eggs a day on average, 10 if I'm lucky, would they have poor laying because of the lice and old age or could they be lacking something in their diet?
thanks

If the lice infestation is bad, it can affect egg production. You are in summer, so molting shouldn't be an issue for you. Also, as they age, they will lay fewer eggs.
