yes people eat them. I have eaten several of them. Why not? They ARE chickens. So what if their meat and bones are dark. Taste the same as any home grown chicken(better than store chicken).
There's just something about "fuzz" that makes people regard something so different from anything else.
I will say one thing- they are very fun to serve on halloween! People are so silly, reacting bad to that dark meat and bones.. sure they'll eat that ham shaped like a skull(THAT grosses ME out) or have that "used kitty litter pan" dessert.... but a silkie, no way!
