Pet Peeves

It's a smaller parrot that's native to northeast Mexico (Gulf coast area) and has been accidentally introduced via the pet trade into southern California, Florida, and Texas.
I was fortunate enough to see a small flock of these guys when I was in TX not too long ago. They're so fun to watch.

They have parakeets in Texas? Were they migrating? Excuse my ignorance. I feel stupid for the curiosity. I'd love to have a parrotlet..

as far as I know, most (all?) parrot species do not migrate. I saw this one with two others late in the evening, heading back to their roost site for the night from their feeding areas.

It really was. They make the funniest calls lol

Probably escaped or dumped pets. parakeets are not natural here.
