My australorp just won't leave. She's been broody for 5 weeks, seems determined to hatch something...

and, get this, THIS IS HER FIRST TIME BEING BROODY. What on Earth

This morning I had to drag her out of the nest and personally escort her to the feeders. She ate for like 2 seconds then ran right back into "her" nest.

Spring is in the air...

I had a goofy blue silkie that sat on a corn cob all winter. I started to break her, but it was cold, and she was warm. The others snuggled up to her at night! And she ate alot less, so it was a win/win!

My silkies have been non stop nestbox decorations for about 2 months now. I gave up on them. One is even in a wire cage top I converted to a nestbox, and has scratched out all the bedding, so is sitting on nothing but wire.

I thought about ordering some eggs for them, but figure as soon as I get them stuck under them they'll decide they are done being broody.

I see you're having problems with broodies too. I have "connections" too, you know...
