Noncrowing roosters

There is a surgery that can be done, but it isn't cheap, it's very very difficult to find a vet that even knows about it, let alone how to do it, and there's a fair chance that the rooster won't survive the surgery or the recovery.

If there were a breed that didn't crow, you can bet it would be one of the most popular breeds with the increase in city chickens.
