Hello, ya'll -
My name is Debra and we are in Western NC. On a new adventure so here is our intro:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Total newbie! Have lots of friends that have chickens but our first go at it. Getting our chicks this weekend.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
none
(3) What breeds do you have?
n/a
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Don't know yet.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Photography, gardening, Cub Scouts, the great outdoors, scrapbooking, canning & baking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Christian. Married for almost 32 yrs. 5 kiddos (4 adopted from local foster care & 1 bio) ages 11-20yo. Have 1 dog, 2 cats, and 1 guinea pig (2nd one passed away recently). True Patriot! Have a paralegal degree but have worked in public health for 18 years now. Back in college to further my degree in business admin/law.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found BYC while searching how to make nesting boxes out of 5 gal buckets.
Looks like a wealth of real knowledge/info!!
