Hello,

Completely new...many times lost...but learning as I go! This best describes my journey with chickens. I am an elementary educator. In April, we covered the chicken life cycle with a full - hands - on experience. I was very careful and dedicated my weekends to check on eggs, making sure temperature and humidity were where they needed to be. Thankfully, all 12 eggs hatched and it was the best experience for our elementary students who got to see the hatching via live cam. All, except my last one to hatch, made it to Giddings, Texas to be part of a bigger flock and enjoy life in a farm... where they are spoiled and loved. I will be asking lots of questions about my 12th chick, named Hope...which stayed behind due to her leg not developing properly. She's a fighter though...and as long as she does not quit, I won't quit on her either. So, this is how our journey began, and hence, how I became a new member here!
