Hello from Wyoming!
Haven’t raised chickens since about 2008 when in Texas. We’ve been raising quail for the last few years, think there’s about 100 hens and 20 or so roos. Been looking forward to chickens again. Went with the Dark Brahma for the extremely cold long winters. Ordered 36/5 hen/roo chicks. We were looking for a duel purpose chicken and one that will lay throughout the winter. Three died after the second day of arrival. Think the shipping was hard on them! Four weeks old tomorrow, and I think I can finally see the difference in the roosters. I know that they are slower developing than other breeds, but the growth and development of each individual varies greatly. We’re looking forward to learning more, and discussing issues with y’all.
