So I had two bodged hatches (incubator issues it turns out the new one worked!) but 10 days into my second hatch I got my first egg from a new frizzle rooster. I thought I could just put it in to find out if it was fertile or not. Turns out it was and even though he’d been through humidity hell I couldn’t bring myself to throw it out. I put him into lockdown and on day 21 as I’d watched 80 odd eggs stop wiggling and die as I watched eagerly for something to pop out before him he started to slow. I decided that he was going to die anyway I started chipping at the shell near where his beak was. He was completely shrink wrapped and I slowly removed his shell and the sticky muck preventing him (or her) from moving. I popped him back in the incubator and left him be and this is the amazing result 11 days later and he was so strong after a week I put him in with 2 week old chicks and he was the boss!

Thanks! I’m so excited after watching two loads of eggs die I have the most perfect bubba and I got the pentagon incubator with 15 chicks hatched waiting to come out!
