I feed my dog raw food as well. We've been doing it for about two or three years, on and off. As of right now, we just do raw meat and bones from the grocery store. I know it's not as good as it could be- but I feel it's much better than regular old dog food, and we'll work on making it better as we go along. Right now we rent a house, and although it does have a lot of land attached, I wouldn't be comfortable raising more livestock until I bought my own place. Renting is too unstable for me to take on too many animals, because there is always the possibility of my landlord selling, or deciding to move back into this house.
Someday when we buy our own house and land we plan to have a small, mostly self-sustaining farm. But for now we'll have to settle with the chickens, and the dog on store-bought raw.
