TSC Easter Eggers from the pullet bin. Only 5 weeks old so too soon to know for sure, but I keep hearing about rows of peas and gender specific feathering so wondering if anyone has thoughts on these four. TIA!

Thank you! I keep watching #1 and #4 since they have bigger combs but I’m learning there can be a lot of variation with EEs!

1,2 and 4 are Pullets, I'm saying 3 is a Cockerel, pattern is uneven, could you post a few more full body pics of #3, I would be concerned for this one only, all others are 100% pullets.

This one has me waffeling somewhat, I would just watch it closely for the next couple of weeks, if those red/rust patches become more prominent then you'll have a Cockerel for sure, but hopefully the pattern will tighten up where it's evident it's a Pullet.

I have never had a Pullet with so much Rust coloring, but I'm sure others have, a couple more weeks for me but I'm 50/50 today.

Just to put the peas and feathers question to rest: rows of pea for comb. Pea combs are genetically either PP or Pp, so are written rrPP or rrPp. The difference is whether they're pure (PP) or mixed (Pp). Gender is unaffected by it.

Feathering: slow vs fast and wing feather growth patterns only work when specifically bred for it. If you don't know the parent lineages (coming from any commercial hatchery, you won't know), then it won't work.
