Hi, I’m completely new to the world of hatching and can’t find any information on what might be happening with my little chick.
It’s only about ten hours old, I let it hatch with mum and she’s done a fantastic job so far keeping little fella warm and safe. When I saw it this morning it did have its head stuck in the egg, I did assist by holding the egg and letting it move back.
But I have noticed a lump just above it’s left wing and was wondering if it’s something to go to the vets about or just wait a little longer with.
It’s not overly big as it looks in the photo, I can try and get a better one if need be. I haven’t touched little one yet but I may pick it up to suss it out if the mother lets me.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply! I think you’re right, little fella was just sitting odd, but it’s still redder than the other side. I’m keeping a close eye and they’re doing really well so far!
CCant really tell by the photo but it looks like the shoulder of the wing!
