Hours 144 to 168

The eye is now clearly visible.

The embryo's neck thins out and now clearly separates the head from the body. The beak is getting larger. The brain starts to enter the cephalic region and now begins to get smaller proportionally to the embryo's size. The comb starts to develop.

The Lavender Ameraucana Bantams, have you looked those ones up!?! Oh my gosh they are adorable! The Golden Necked D'uccles are so crazy cute too! And the Ermines I hopefully will be hatching, I'm so excited! Ive had Ameraucanas on my list for years. Someday I'd like Blue Jersey Giants, some Marans I'm just not settled on a color yet, so maybe a few of each until I know what I like? Salman Faveroles are on the list, owlbeards, Brahmas (if a light one hatches I can half cross them off the list, but I want a dark one too), it's not a breed but I want a chocolate satin, Bresse, Ancona, oh, I was wanting 55 Flower Hens but now I have some Swedish Flower Hens in the incubator, I know they are different but they will likely kick the 55's from my list. Did tou know some SFHs are crested!?! The breeder had some this is by far not all of my lost, but I'll spare you

I've seen Ermine Ameraucanas in show, they are soooo pretty! I'm sorry to read your EA eggs aren't doing much, though. Guess you'll just have to try another batch later, huh?

I couldn't put y'all through even an abridged version of my list, y'all would be scrolling over it for days. But a lot of what you mentioned is on mine as well!

I'm just wanting a confirmation on my assumption, if I can't see growth tomorrow, or even today for thay matter, they are clears and need removed? I know, but I have this huge worry that I'll be throwing out a good egg, even though I know if I can't see veins by now, there's no way they will magically hatch...

I tend to be more optimistic with my clears and leave them in until day 10-14 unless there's a funky smell or I need the incubator space for something else. Generally, though, if it looks clear by day 7 and it's not a super dark egg shell or some other color that's hard to candle through, then it's probably not going to do anything and is safe to remove.




Guaranteed nothing from my flock would even develop this time of year, but all these updates and candling pictures are really making me want to bust out my incubator as well...
