LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Okay, drumroll please...
Suspense Anticipation GIF

According to the labs testing, she is:
45% siberian husky
30% labrador retriever
6% border collie
5% german shepherd
3% alaskan malamute
3% collie (lassie)
3% cattle dog
2% australian kelpie
2% samoyed
1% australian shepherd

She was adopted as a husky mix, so I'm willing to believe this! Percentages are going to be somewhat a guess though really. I guessed a bit of australian kelpie, so I'm proud of myself!
She has the same face and eyes as both my dogs, which were both German mixes and the current also has heeler in her

She is! At 12 years old, she's only just started to be around poultry. Over the course of a week I was able to introduce her to my ducks, and is now perfectly well behaved off leash with them. I wouldn't trust her without supervision, but it shows how amazing she is. She met a cat for the first time a couple years ago, and she was good as gold with her. She's gentle with kids, toddlers, every animal she's ever met, including a hamster which escaped his enclosure and came nose to nose with her.

She also recognises when an anxiety attack is imminent with someone and even though she isn't super affectionate she comes close to check they're okay and give them her love.
My family has taken her much too for granted. Some members make comments about hoping she dies soon etc. She's a good girl and she's going to have a lovely "retirement" from the busy household when we move up country soon.
Awww she sounds great! That’s sad some want her to die.

I have a fun game for y'all
I DNA tested my 12 year old rescue dog and got the results. Does anyone want to guess what she is? Hint, she's a lot of breeds.
She didn't enjoy having me collect a dna sample, but I'm so glad I did this! The curiosity has been eating away at me for 12 years.

And her now

Anyone dare to guess?
She's ADORABLE! ❤ (is adorable a breed?) 🤔

No, I was talking about @BelovedBirds dog! The one that started all this...
I'm very impressed that you thought collie!
I can see it in her I think, in her ears. But still, I didn't expect it. It's a small percentage but those are going to be somewhat inaccurate I assume.
I adore rough coated collies. Grew up watching lassie movies, beautiful dogs... I'm so sad the breed is becoming so rare. At least where I am.

I was left alone for 5 minutes yesterday, found a new best friend. I usually won't pet cats I don't know, but this one was in the middle of the busy town and just looked lonely... Idk if anyone will agree, but I dislike cats being loose in towns. Too many cats get hurt, hit by cars or attacked by dogs, and the owners blame the dogs, the drivers, instead of accepting its their animal and its not kept safe. I've also seen aggressive cats who have hurt children and attacked dogs (truly).
Perhaps unless in the country with fewer cars etc, imo I think cats should be house cats...
Anyway, I saw the creature walking around people, and called her over, she ran over to me and sat with me for a while, just wanting a fuss. Heaven forbid I stop stroking her, she demanded my full attention 😆
So now I want a cat. :hmm
I'd be content being a crazy cat lady.

They'd fit a lot of homes too. Their energy levels are much more manageable for pet owners, and they come in smooth too!

I'm not a fan of loose cats. My future cats will hopefully never leave the house outside of being held or in a carrier. My current cat is half in and out, and I'm nervous everything she stays out after dark.
