Keeping Call Ducks?

I was wondering how many with Call Ducks keep theirs penned,let them free range,or clip their wings? I know they can fly well,but will they stay around if they know where their food is?

I keep them penned in a large dog kennel covered with chicken wire. I used to let them out to free range, but one day I had all but one female fly away.

Mine stay. The only time they fly is if they are venturing in the yard and I walk down to the coop..then I get bombarded by them because they want some scratch grain!! Mine def are not graceful flyers I honestly do not know how they haven't broken anything when they land yesterday my butterscotch did a crash landing head first and rolled over head first. They sure are entertaining!!

I keep mine penned in a covered run/pen. I don't want to lose them to predators or chance them flying off.

I keep mine in a covered pen because I have alot of fox and hawks around that would love a quick lunch!

My 6 are in a covered pen and then free range when I am in my backyard and can keep an I on them. Their wings are clipped.

This is the first time I've ever owned Calls.I just recently bought 3 ducklings. This is gonna be a hard choice to make on keeping them penned,or to let them free range. I have a covered pen for them. I would love to let them free range during the day when I'am home,but I would also be horrified if I lost them.

I've waited a longgggg...time to get some. Boy this is gonna be a hard decision!
