This bird presented with these symptoms today. He is a little over a year and a half old. I feed TSC pellets and add oyster shell. On occasion I also feed Orscheln scratch grain. I think its wry neck, and if so I should be treating with vitamin E and selenium. Are there better brands? I'm off to Orsheln's to get the supplies, unless a pharmacy is a better recommondation.
It is hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like wry neck or torticolis. Go to a pharmacy or Walmart vitamin aisle, and get vitamin E 400 IU to give daily. A little bit of scrambled egg or sunflower seed has all the selenium needed. Some thiamine which is found in many vitamins, B complex, liver, and plain yogurt can be given as well. Wry neck can be from a vitamin E deficiency, a head or neck injury, or is seen in some diseases, such as Mareks, and some other diseases. You may need to help him eat and drink often if he cannot.
