Ice Cream Recipes Anyone?

I found this great new ice cream recipe for my chicken eggs. Epicurious of course! It’s egg nog ice cream with butter rum sauce. Yum!

My go-to for vanilla ice cream is:
1 C whole milk
3/4 C sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract ( I make my own with rum, so I add a lot and don’t give it to the little one! )
Mix until sugar is dissolved.
Add in 2 C heavy cream
Refrigerate overnight or until chilled (yes, it’s already cold. It matters though)
Put down the rum!!
Add to your ice cream machine.

Do you heat it first? Sounds Yum! We make homemade vanilla by throwing some whole vanilla beans in a vodka skoal bottle. I might have to try the rum next as we have plenty from the Virgin Islands.
