How to stop a chicken from eating eggs?

Assuming the eggs that are being eaten are solid and not soft/thin shelled, you could try using a lot of fake eggs (which they can't peck through, eggshells filled with something distasteful (I've seen suggestions from mustard to dish soap), roll away nests, or just pick up eggs a lot more frequently.

Bad behavior like pecking eggs in nests and eating can spread throughout Flock.
I had one Pullet in 5 years do that. When I caught her in the act pecking hard shelled eggs in the nests, her days were numbered, I culled her on the weekend.
She laid 4 to 5 eggs weekly and I hated to cull, but she ate 2 eggs weekly on average.
I always had Ceramic eggs in nests and still do.
If your eggs are soft or thin shelled and break open when laid, they are fair game and the cause needs to be remedied. GC
