4/4 eggs! Two RIRs and two Leghorns!

It would have been another 12 egg day but someone ate one in the nest box. The only evidence is a smear of egg yolk.
Also came home from work to a dead hen ( 1 year old). She apparently thought it would be a good idea to take a short cut through the dog yard when all 3 dogs were outside. She was wrong.

Oh no! That’s a hard habit to break in a chicken. Hopefully it was just a one time peck at the egg and that was it.

I’m sorry for your loss of your chicken. My Schnauzer is also not very good with our chickens so we’re trying to somehow train him if we can to be good. Our Boston Terrier is actually scared of our chickens though. Your chicken will be missed!
