1 already today. I was hoping that my rir was going to start laying again, she’s gone back to sitting in nests once a day, but she has yet to actually lay. I think she’s just doing it out of habit.

5. I love to read this thread but have been avoiding it like the plague lately. Every time I get on here and brag on my girls, one of them goes crazy (broody) and the fight is on. The last one was awful! Chicken jail worked but the damage was done. I got down to 3 eggs a day and we actually caught up to the chickens’ production rate and had to buy eggs. If we get another broody tomorrow I’m swearing off this thread forever.

9 out of 14 today, a new record! The 6 youngest will be 18 weeks old on Wednesday. There was a teeny tiny pullet egg in the batch today so one of them is laying already
