I'm looking to drive to Davie, Florida to purchase a smalll number of chickens. I am concerned about neighborhood cats. I also need a coop or an easy to follow design for one to build. I don't have a lot of money but I plan on naming the chickens.

You didnt say where you are driving from? a dog crate
with shavings or straw and a towel over the top is a easy way to transport them safely.
if you peruse the site more there are many coop ideas or visit your local feed store
or a walmart type they sell prefab, it kinda depends how many pullets you are buying.
