Remove any part that is hanging. Little scissors, nail clippers - something like that- it's off and putting it back on will just lock whatever dirt/bacteria are now on the nail in with the exposed nail bed.

- Remove the part of the nail that is off at the smoothest spot you can.
- Clean with iodine or Vetricyn or other disinfectant
- If the bleeding won't stop, try flour or blood stop powder
- Apply neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment- then I would wrap it using non-stick gauze pad by the nail bed and cover with Vetwrap.
