Time zone?I am a teacher and leave school at 3:50
Only 3 eggs and all hatched? Most likely. Will he be fine in the incubator over night with the other two?
I have taken chicks out of the incubator as soon as they hatch without any problems. The keeping them in the incuabtor for 24- 48 hours thing is (IMO) to dummy proof hatching.Definitely ! He'll encourage the rest to hatch and they can/need to stay in there for up to 1-2 days to stay warm and dry off.
Well, this is a teacher that probably does not want to upset small children. I'd leave in the incubator. Stay late/go in early.I have taken chicks out of the incubator as soon as they hatch without any problems. The keeping them in the incuabtor for 24- 48 hours thing is (IMO) to dummy proof hatching.
They can stay in the incubator for up to 48 hrs, any longer isn't good for them. Taking them out of the incubator right after they hatch can be fatal in some cases weather it's with the chick being taken out or with pipping chicks..I have taken chicks out of the incubator as soon as they hatch without any problems. The keeping them in the incuabtor for 24- 48 hours thing is (IMO) to dummy proof hatching.
@BrooksHatlen @Bigtom Turkey The string is now unattached and it looks like a red thing is protruding slightly and it was bleeding. It seemed to stop now?I would keep an eye on him for any possible injuries that might take place....I'd keep in in the brooder under a heated lamp. If there's no other option, he should be fine!
Mine were walking/trying to within minutes. If it is walking right out of the egg it would not be normal.
