1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I just started raising chickens last summer. I took on 3 older ladies who were too spicy for the rest of their flock. Having their own space was all they needed and they’re very relaxed and happy now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

(3) What breeds do you have?
Golden Comets, Calico Princess, Starlight Green
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I really love birds in general, so having my own to interact with and observe has been delightful. They’re hilarious little weirdos.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, knitting, punch needle, hiking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife and I have one 17yo cat named Rose. She is a two person cat who wants nothing to do with any other living beings.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Before I took in the original 3 hens, I’d been considering chickens for a couple years and researching obsessively. BYC has been an amazing resource, and it finally occurred to me I could also join lol
