Glad to finally join after reading posts for the last two years!
In addition to being a flock father I own and operate Justice Brothers Ranch, a citrus and cattle operation that's been up and running since 1928.
We've done a lot of things over the last 90+ years, but we've most recently wound up raising laying hens through some peafowl and a few happy accidents.
We currently have a hodgepodge flock of over 100, including:
Ameraucana
Andalusian
Appenzeller Spitzhauben
Barred Plymouth Rock
Black Sex Link
Brown Leghorn
Orpington
Delaware
Black Copper Marans
Gold & Silver Laced Wyandottes
Golden Comet
Olive Egger
Rhode Island Red
Swedish Isbar
Whiting True Blue and Green
My partner and I are also laying the groundwork for a rooster flock project that we're hoping will give a landing spot for the unwanted backyard roosters that seem to crop up out here all the time.
Can't wait to contribute after all this time benefitting from everyone else's work!
