We are totally new to chickens! Got our layers at the end of March of this year. Processed our first batch of meaties yesterday.

All of our layers came from a mixed flock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Eggs (hopefully soon), and watching the chickens grow and seeing their personalities. Also enjoy learning about caring for them.

Hunting, fishing, logging, music.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Just my wife and I out here. We have two dogs (17yo and 5yo).
