what are the best container to use to hold this two things? i can’t find anything to see what people do normally. is it just in a parrot cup? or some other container? what is the beta container to buy that has two compartments for each, or two separate container?

Anything that is safe to use is good. Best to be able hang it up as high as your chickens back's if possible. If it is out in the open, and going to get rained on, a good option is to drill in/find a container with holes in the bottom that are smaller than the grit/shell product you are using so water doesn't pool. Parrot water/feed containers can work well as long as the chicken cannot find away to spill or tip over all the contents out onto the ground.

I made this when I only had a small flock:

I don't think I have a photo of the current container, which is a plastic coffee can cut down a bit and wired to the side of the coop.
