Your photos are a wonderful tribute to her, and it is Not silly to love a chicken, any more than it is silly to love a dog, cat or other animal. Some chickens truly do adore their people, and they let us know by their behaviors and their eye contact. When we see and understand that, it is very easy to love them back. I am very sorry for the loss of your special Holly. Please forgive yourselves for a tragic mistake that so many of us have made. Honor Holly's memory by loving your current and future chickens, and doing your best to keep them safe.
