Free chicken tractor project

I decided to try to build a chicken tractor from crap laying in the backyard and some chicken wire. I started this morning around 8:30. It wasn't till about 9:00- 9:30 I thought to take pics. Lol.

So first I found three 2x4s 7 1/2 feet long so I figured 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 will be my floorless area

Then was looking for bamboo and remembered the black pipe I found in the woods a while back. Decide to keep it and now glad I did

I cut 3 equal lengths didnt measure, heated up the ends and tapered them.

Stuck them in place and nailed.

Repeat 6x and

Next I needed a roof of some sort I was gonna go chicken wire all the way and tarp half, but then I see it. Scrap tin.

Lol that's Ghost in the back.
Tin both sides and tie wired in place with some #9.

Chicken wire and tie wire the rest

Hope y'all enjoyed that's all I got done today got about 4 hours in it give or take. Gonna put a hen box in there and a feeding tube. Debating on cutting a door in the side of the tin. Any thoughts on how to pimp my chicken tractor?

Maybe add a rope to one of the short sides to make moving it less difficult. Looks great!

Will the space be OK for 4 sebrights. Really small bantams just now 9 weeks old

I think a door would be good, lots easier to get at the birds that way. It's always fun to make something practical out of stuff that's just been sitting around. Just be aware that chicken wire is not really predator proof.

Thanks, no protection needed I have 4 dogs that are chicken friendly. Really made it cause I don't want my show birds running off lol
