Feeding Wild Birds

Yesterday afternoon, I saw 3 male rose breasted grosbeaks dining at my big feeder and an Oriol picking at one of the suet cakes

A pair of Grosbeaks at the club feeder, and just now there's a male at my home feeder along with the first female redwing blackbird I've seen this year.

Lucky you. I never see grosbeaks here.

I had a little Indigo Bunting eating grass seeds in the backyard just off the porch over the weekend.

Now if I saw one of those in my yard I could die happy!

I saw a female goldfinch fluttering around snacking in my walnut tree this morning. I may have caught a glimpse of a male or maybe I was wishing???

They started showing up here 5 or 6 years ago.

I've only ever seen 2 or 3 and have never seen a Painted Bunting.

Saw 2 males and a female at the club today.

A pair of Grosbeaks at the club feeder, and just now there's a male at my home feeder along with the first female redwing blackbird I've seen this year.

We get black headed grosbeaks in summer, which is the western variant of the eastern rose breasted. Not quite as pretty, though. Once in a blue moon we get evening grosbeaks, too. They look like giant goldfinches.

I just looked out the window and saw 3 make red breasted grosbeaks, 2 females, an oriole, a couple goldfinches and a couple house finches lol. Colorful group right now! And I saw the first hummingbird at my feeder yesterday

I have a feeder suction cupped to the picture window in our bathroom. This morning much to the Princess's delight a male Red Breasted Grosbeak was eating in that feeder.
