No cone of shame! Gracie started to lick, chew and pull at the stitches on her side and leg last night after the vet closed, and nobody was answering their phone. One wound extends from base of ribs to hip bone. So I put her home-made "storm shirt"on her, which is a snug sleeveless t-shirt The Kid outgrew years ago. I snugged it up with a hair tie. Then I put dabs of mentholatum on the shirt and long hair around the wounds. Dogs don't like the smell, and it's working as a great repellant! Thought I would share in case anyone else needs to use this technique!
