We had to put down our 26 year old mule yesterday. He was cantankerous and full of mischief. He could open gates to release the horses when he shouldn't have been able to. The grass was always greener on the opposite side of the fence. He delighted in 'trimming' my trees just to get a rise out of me. I was riding him once when he made a sharp left turn at full speed. He went left but I didn't! So many stories I could tell.

He lived up to all the problems you can have with a mule. But all in all he was part of our family for more than 20 years and we loved him. We will miss him terribly.

I've been a horse lover all my life, and for most of it, I just thought mules were kind of awkward and funny looking. But my life got altered by the inclusion of a mini mule almost 10 years ago, and I totally, totally get where you are coming from!:hugs

I'm sorry for your loss of such a loved family member.
