Egg shell question

Hi Everyone,
I've been using a lot of eggs lately so I thought I would bake the shells in the oven and crush them up for the chickens. I've heard of other people doing that on the forum. My question is: Do I mix the crushed shells with their feed (they get layer pellets) or do I put it our free choice like the oyster shell? Thanks, Jen

My wife used to bake the shells and crush them and add to their feed but it seem that the chickens got tired of them, so now we just feed them oyster shells. We would also eat shrimp occasionally and feed the chickens the shells and heads they loved them.
