duck stays wet after being in the water??

hi! my female duck of 2.5 months just got out of the water around 15 minutes ago and shes still wet, she’s definitely the smaller one of the pair but i don’t think that has anything to do with it, how could this happen? because normally she’d be waterproof

She might just be molting. The heat can make it worse. If you start seeing feathers everywhere, that’s all it is.
