I just got some sweet chicks in the mail today. Two of them are blue laced red wyandottes. Can you tell from these pictures if they are black, blue, or splash? Do I need to wait longer to know?

Hi there! I'm a first time owner of Wyandottes too, and I purchased 6 chicks from a mixed group. The lightest wo ended up as white and red splash, three are gold laced black, and one is gold laced blue. I couldn't see a difference in the gold laced black and blue until about two or so weeks old. Here's a photo of them at a couple of days old, then the untitled group photo is at 3 weeks, and the last is of them at 8 weeks old. I hope thats of any help!

Very cool pics!

My two BLRW were a pale yellow/cream base with muted/dilute/pastel? Patches of red and blue.

Really dumb of me not to take lots of pics of my chickies ...

A quick google search is bringing up a variety of appearances for chicks, so I think you might not know until they feather out unfortunately ...
